Hi everyone, new to the forum so please be gentle if this question has been asked before. I've recently returned to modelling after a lengthy break (work induced) and have bought my self the 1/48 airfix f3. My question is are there any detail sets available for this aircraft in this scale. As I work on the aircraft everyday I have spotted that there appears to be some very obvious faults with the kit, especially in the cockpit area. Any help you may be able to give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sooty,
I think you're out of luck. Airwaves and Flightpath do upgrade sets in 1/72, but not in 1/48.
Sorry I can't be any more help,
Rob M.

Hi Sooty, don't know of anything for the Airfix F3. Flightpath do a set for the GR1/1A/4/4A, but its designed for the Italeri kit. I've used this set on the Airfix kit and it was usefull, but at £33 its a bit pricey. IMHO if I was in your position, just comeing back to modelling, I'd build the kit out of the box, add some resin or white metal seats (Paragon and Aeroclub do them and I think Neomega also) and close the canopy up.. I'm a big fan of Airfix and I think the kit will build up nicely, but as for accuracy its not brilliant. The build will be a pain in the rear end, and you'll probably have to take out shares in a filler manufacturer, but the end results will be impressive. Good luck with it anyway. Mark
