Before I moved up to Bedfordshire with my work in the mid 70's there was a large model shop named TRENTS in Newbury, who's logo looked reminiscent of the current Airfix logo with the Trents name in it instead of the Airfix name. Any body remember it? The manager there was a knowledgeable chap named Robin. Also there were two other places where you could buy plastic kits from. Hills who were adjacent to the hump back bridge on the opposite side of the High Street from Camp Hopsons department store. There was also a haberdashery store that was run by a chap named Godfrey Eaton who was a Ferrari / Bugatti buff and he used to sell a number of white metal and plastic car kits from a room at the back of the shop. Apart from these was a couple of guys who ran a model figure club in Newbury and used a small Victorian Terrace house as a shop to sell white metal figure kits.
