Looking through the Pocketbond 2007 / 2008 catalogue yesterday I noticed that EMHAR were advertising their long awaited 1/24 Bedford O-Type. This is an injection moulded kit with over 250 parts including rubber tyres. The kit will be available as either a LWB Dropside Truck (British Railways) version shown in the illustration, or as a high body SWB Tipper. This is a kit which has been in preparation for almost two years and I for one will eagerly await the release. It's shown as a 2007 release in the catalogue but as yet, no mention of kit price. The conversion possibilities for this kit are endless ... bring it on! Edit ... Just found this: www.moduni.de/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/970520/products_id/6042401

Quick update.
Just had an email from Phillip Brook of Pocketbond, they have no release date as yet for the EMHAR Bedford.

I can tell you it is truly a good kit, the detail is superb, a complete engine right down to the petrol pump. the cab has all the detail of the real thing I know cos I used to drive one or two real ones, even the dipper switch is a separate part and the cut out and fuse box are on the foot well exterior along with the trottle linkage.
Keep on truckin' Ted

It's true John, there are loads of possibilities, including a few 'Dad's Army' ideas, but how about the swb converted as a RAF tractor unit and pulling a scratched 'Queen Mary' trailer, possibly with the pieces of a 1/24 Airfix Spitfire as cargo?

Not true there matey this type of Bedford was produced after the war the earlier type production was suspended so the war time military version was produced this type had the square flat grille which was simplified for the war effort.

Well corrected Ted, but there are still some superb conversions awaiting this kit, time for a browse through the book lists and pull out all those Vintage Commercial Vehicle mags.
