Barv you little devil, are you building the red Western Star Military Wrecker? ... twin boom Holmes 750' ... I've got a good shot of it somewhere, complete with unit marking. The kit you could use is the 1/24 Italeri Western Star 'Australian', kit no. #719, you can also use the original Italeri Western Star Wrecker although that has Bro wrecking gear. Edit ... Found the photo ... You may also like to check out the following link: www.rememuseum.org.uk/vehicles/wrv/vehstar.htm

Ayup Barv, brilliant mate, I've had that photo burning a hole in the bench for ages calling me to build it. I think your best bet for a donor is the Italeri Australian Western Star kit, not sure about what wheels come with the kit though but they're possibly 'Trilex'. There is a Western Star kit available on Ebay USA, but you may as well wait until one becomes available in the UK. Guide price is about £30 because it's unavailable, although there will be a fair bit of remodelling on the basic kit to convert it to the chassis you require, I'll keep my eyes open for you. May I suggest placing a request on the 'Wanted' thread on the forum, you never know?
Look forward to watching the progress on this one.

BARV ... the Western Star wrecker had the 'BRO' wrecking gear, which has now been used on several Italeri releases, including the latest incarnation, which incidentally is riding on a modern Western Star. However, it looks as though your project uses the 'Holmes 750' twin boom, which bears no resemblance to the 'BRO' gear.
