Well Ive definately got the truck bug..... so here are a few of the planned buids i have for 2008. This is the Italeri MAN F2000 low roof, this will probably turn out as a fire service drops. This MAN TGA will turn out as a heavy wrecker, i plan to add in another axle and scratch build everything from the cab back. This is another Italeri kit, its the Mercedes 6x4 powerliner tractor unit, this will still be a tractor unit but im going to another axle and convert it into a heavy hauler like below.

Come on then, what truck related model would you like to build, hopefully this year or ASAP?
I've got lots of builds on the wish list including a fire truck based on the Revell 'Bussing', that would be a major build. A heavy wrecker (chassis as yet undecided) and a WWI ambulance based on the Academy 1/16 Ford Model T. There's also a couple of other projects I'd like to start, using the Academy kit, but there's only so many hours in the day.

I was perusing the stash the other day and thought 'hang on a mo' Ive got some truck kits here, Tamiya Dragon Wagon, Trumpeter Faun FL56 Tank Transporter & the DF21 ICBM Launcher. The chassis & engine detail on the latter is SCARY! I may have to start an insurgency into your world of truck modelling and bring it down from within ;D Watch this space! Cheers, Steve

BTW the rads always leave the manufacturer painted black over the copper metal so your first example is not from painting the chassis and at Dennis I can see now why they were a load of cr#p, we bought six units years ago and none lasted more than five minutes, I actually wrote one off. Some years ago, there was a series of books titled 'Supertrucks', and in one of these issues was a desert pipeline carrier based on an 8 x 8 Titan chassis, now there's a conversion for the 'Simba'.

Crap? ... the best fire truck in the world Ted, we had several in Liverpool that were over 20 years old and would still give the new stuff a run for their money ... and some of them had that dreaded gear stick, not the mamby pamby auto selector of the modern stuff ... When I retired in 2000, I attempted to locate the first truck I rode, a Dennis F24 with a Rolls Royce B24 engine. I wanted to restore it to it's former glory but unfortunately, the whole fleet were taken to a scrap yard in wales during the 80's and stripped of their mechanical parts, aluminium and brass and the ash frames were torched. Even so, they had a good career spanning 30 years, not many modern trucks will be rolling after that sort of operational period. ;D

Nick, do you mean the Terberg TS20. There's also the Foremost Magnum Four pipe carrier I got drawings for from the manufacturer in Canada a few years ago. It's one i'd like to build some time.
