Any one got any idea or photos of Renault Traffic vans (1980 -1990's version) in either UK or other nationalities armed forces? Presumably the French must have used them at some time !
Had a real Duh moment having bought a Humbrol Bobcat Junior ambulance kit reference BJ06 at the Falkirk Swap meet on Sunday.
Heading home in Rab's tank - AKA Mercedes Benz 600 - I opened the box and noticed a major part of the kit was conspicuous by its abcense ! Spent £4 on a second hand model van with no bodywork, just floor, seat well, wheels and clear plastic for the windows. Was too near home to justify heading back to the swap meet to chastise the seller !
Good job we didn't turn back. Got home and was fiddling with the now useless box of redundent parts cursing Humbrol for poor production checks ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, when out popped a cardboard infill piece from the box art packaging ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Low and behold the box had a false bottom to store and protect the vans body shell.
Tee hee ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, OH WHAT A FOOL I FELT !!!!!!!!!
Now to figure out a military use for what I think is a 1:32 scale Renault Traffic low roof panel van.
Any ideas or better still reference pics for a quick build and paint job???
Hope to hear from you guys.

Thanks Fatty mate , that looks better for some military subjects. That should help Okdoky . Traffic Vans did not fit the picture on military matters, 'but there you go'. ;D

We had a few of these when I was deployed to Southern Italy for a few months to use as delivery vans for all the spares and going into town on 'shopping' trips. They were normally white or the weirdest shade of blue I've ever seen. Also I've seen them at a couple of NATO and US bases in Germany normally painted olive drab and used by the aircraft meet and greet tech teams on the airfield. Hope this helps Pat J. (Still counting penguins)

You the man Paul
That is the very one. Wow and what a result,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, choices too !!!!!!!!!!!
Any chance of you sending me those extracts from the book by e-mail so I can check out the techy info and dimensions without resorting to magnifying glass?
I like the look of the cargo bodies and the ambulance would be fairly simple to do too.
Cheers

Cheers Nige No probs, We still have alot of media relating to the MOD, as we were one of thier disposal agents for many many years. If you can get them (found mostly on ebay ) get a copy of the 'Janes' books. A bible for anything military within the last 20 years... It will be Monday before I can send it, PM me your email address.
