Can anyone suggest a book or website I can look at that would help me out with ageing/weathering my models? I love building them, mainly tanks at the moment, but have reached the point now where I'm sick of looking at 'shiny new' ones. Tips for things like chipped paint etc are what I'm after.
Cheers, Connor

Hi Conner, have you puroosed the Hints and tips section of this site, there might be some useful hints there. Its practice to, try experimenting on bits of plastic/Resin. For chipped paint its best to have a base colour(maybe more than one), then allow to dry properly, then add colour you want to see under paint like silver for bare metal and so on, again allow to dry, then add top coat. As you get on you will get the right mix ;D later in weathering, you can scratch the paint and show the silver through. There are many ways of weathering, some use Wash's and others use oil paints and pastels to get the effect, but experiment. Hope this helps in some way to get you going.

Hi Connor, In the Hints and Tips section on the IPMS Rutland website ( www.ipmsrutland.co.uk ) there's a 'how to' on doing washes which, for me, is an important part of weathering a model. I'm messing about with pigments at the moment, they're easy to apply and relatively easy to remove if you don't like the effect.
