Hello guys! Yet again here is my 1/35th full resin truck tractor from Real Model. I'm a bit disappointed with this kit because a lot of bit and pieces missing as well as a lot of airbubbles and correction to do. Anyway, a whole lot of scratchbuiding and correction done and here is the detailed shot works. This is depicted with a HARDOX level III armor on the cab doors as noted in Iraq. Bits and pieces have been made from scratch (mirror frames, mirrors, hydraulic hose, straps, tarps, interiors, under chassis etc.) I don't know if this is the right headings to post this or in the truck section, ADMIN pls correct this if its not in its right place, thanks. Hope you guys enjoys this, any comments are welcome.

Now then,
Very nice! What method do you use to weather your models?
Cheers, Steve

Thanks Steve! Well for my weathering i always look at reference pictures for guide and start with the basic filter, wash, mapping and highlights (drybrushing). Afterwhich comes the part i like most, the application of dirt. I use Migs pigments for most of my works, building it up gradually until i'm satisfied with the desired effects.

Hi there Nick The Loggies group would be good place for this one ... Nah! ... they're military softskins, there's enough in the truck category to keep us going for a while, which reminds me, time I got cracking on weathering that Bussing.

Hmmm is he a member? And why has it got moss all over it??
And can we have it on the SIG stand (you have to be a member)?

Moss? ... that's one of the best weathered military vehicles I've seen in a long time, just when you think you've achieved a reasonable standard, something like this appears and blows you out of the water.

LOL if you look at the back of any freight yard theres always an old tractor slowly dropping apart there. And theres a particular moss or algae that grows on the tyres I've seen it many times.
And if you look at the 5th pic down it looks just like it. Probably the angle or summat. But that comes under realistic to me.
Wolfie ;D

Lonewolf, to clarify about the "moss" on the truck, this is just accumulated dust and desert sand. My reference showed that this service vehicle is in Iraq and i'm just trying to simulate what i could see the best i can. I'm no expert on any subjects with regards to modelling a particular vehicle, just happen to love a well weathered AFV and how it would look in the field. I know that it would be a different environment here in Europe but in SouthEast Asia trucks could be very dirty, howevere i'm partly guessing on the onc i did here because i have a few reference on this vehicle working in the Middle East. Point well taken on the "moss thing", i'm still on the process of learning and hope i can improve on this.
