So you want to make signs for your diorama? ... well, just been playing with the signs I printed for the 'Olympic' diorama ipmsuk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=oly&action=display&thread=7741&page=1 in an attempt to make them look a bit more realistic and I've stumbled upon a easy way to make them. Firstly, if you have Microsoft Word, import a picture of the sign you want to duplicate for your diorama, resize to suit then print it out onto plain white paper using an ink jet printer. If you have a stock of Johnson's Kleer, airbrush a couple of coats just to seal the face of the paper, either let it dry normally or force dry it. Then spray a couple of mist coats of Halfords Clear Laquer onto the paper letting each coat dry. After a couple of hours, cut out the signs and stick them to 5 thou 'Plasikard' and voilla! ... there's your sign.

Now that really is good news Nick ;D.
Look forward to trying this out.
Our club is going on about putting signs about model when on display at exhibitions, this maybe the way to go.

Yep your right on the wording side, thanks . I have tried signs in 1/35th scale but not your way, so will have a go. I am thinking on Mines and such in Russian/Japanese and so on. Will have to do lots of different signs so as to not waste space and ink .

Here's the same sign with a bit of manipulation and weathering ... ... maybe to finish it off, the mark of a football on the 'no ball games' sign ...
