Jim Have you tried the following combination: - Main frame pivot points as the obvious bottom (turntable) joint, Elbow joint and Wrist joint at the cage floor. Then from bottom to top the following: - Stabilizer rods either side fixed by pivot point on turntable base extending to the bottom end of the vertical joining plate at the elbow joint. I assume this vertical plate has a pin extending through the elbow so the plate stays vertical as the main frame extends. The distance between the centre pin and the top and bottom hinge points where the stabilzers are joined are equidistant to the centre of the plate. The top two stabilizer rods extend from the top end of the vertical elbow plate to the cage hinge point half way up the cage. I am assuming that all four stabilizer rods are fixed length and therefore stay relative to each other and the main frame length stays the same. I get the impression that the vertical plate keeps the cage vertical because the only two ends that vary are the base and the wrist. The position of the stabilizer hinge points on the turntable base and on the cage cancel each other out and so the cage stays vertical. The fixed vertical elbow plate with its pin (not fixed of course) through the main frame keeps the cage vertical regardless of the height of the main frame. Does that seem plausible ?? Or is it as clear as mud.

Many thanks for your reply, it`s much appreciated. I`ll try to follow your theory and see what happens. This is why I always mock things up with cardboard and pins before starting out with the styrene (much cheaper).
I`m kicking myself because I could have answered my own question last week at Gaydon when I had the vehicle in front of me and the camera in my hand.

Nige, It will be similar treatment (plus split roof) that I gave to the Bussing, except that it may be a little higher. in keeping with the Morris.
