Thanks to everyone who responded as I now have enough info, with a little bit of imagination as well, to start cutting plastic for my 1/72 scale C5. I'm also going to send all the stuff I've accumulated to TAS in case anyone else is foolish enough to follow the same path! However as with all new projects it has now lead me to another enigma regarding the actual aircraft I plan to model. In "Captive Luftwaffe" by Kenneth West there's a C5 coded 2N+EP of 9/ZG76 which was shot down on 11Th August 1940 and used as a spares ship for the other C5 that was put back into the air, the well known 5F+CM. This would seem to confirm it as a C5 as this variant had different engines to a standard C1/2/3/4 so another C5 would be needed to provide the correct engine spares etc. So job done and 2N+EP it is then, except other sources I've found confirm this example as a C4, and to complicate things further the photo of the crash site (attached) shows a small aperture centred on the plane's nose just below the 4 MGs which suggests it could even be a C6. I'm no expert on BF 110s (but learning more each day!) so does anyone have any ideas please before I commit to what could be the wrong aircraft/identity? Kind Regards Colin. Attachments:

I think I've answered my own question as C5s would probably be flown as part of an Aufklarunggruppe unit (reconnaissance) and not in a normal Zestorergeshwader such as ZG76. So the caption from "The Captive Luftwaffe" is probably wrong and 2N+EP probably was a C4 or C6. Also, it was only the C5/N that had the DB601N engine requiring 100 octane fuel (plus some Bf109E's as well) so a standard C4 could have been used to provide spares for a standard C5. Still not sure about the nose aperture but this seems to be a standard part of the nose and could have worked its way loose when crash landing I suppose? Although as per the attached pics I've only ever seen it open/missing in photos of C6's. All of which leaves me with no other identity for a Battle of Britain C5 apart from the well known 5F+CM so does anyone have any definitive info on possible alternatives please? Kind Regards Colin. . Colin - this is the clear cover for the gun camera - if fitted.
Details & drawing confirming this can be found in Mankau/Petrick Me 110/210/410
And don't rely too much on definition of version after "N" engines - not all C-5 were so equipped I think.
