Just brought my first armour kit in many years -1/35 Academy M10 Achilles. Any nasty faults i should look out for. Read that British vehicles had a different Ammunition stowage to US versions. Will doing it OOB to get some much needed practice.
Thanks

Hi. Not built this kit. But if my memory serves me right the Archilles carried the 17 pounder AT gun, 77mm. That would mean different size bins. If thats the case you should have the right type of placement in the kit. I am sure someone will tell me if I am wrong lol.

The M10 carried a 3 inch gun whilst the M10 'Achilles' (never seems to have called that by the troops) carried the 17 Pounder.
The British used both vehicles.
The Academy kit should have the correc t stowage for the 17 Pounder if you've bought the Achilles kit.
Not a bad kit at all - not perfect but pretty good. IIRC there is an issue with the clearance for the driver/co-driver hatches in relation to the turret.
Regards, John

Thanks to all who replied. My kit duly arrived a couple of days ago, after reading through the instructions the main body colour is quoted as "Dark Green" but surely it should be Olive Drab.
If so is Tamiya XF62 near enough, and would this be best thinned with water or thinners for Airbrushing.
How about a SIG for Sherman`s and other related vehicles.
thanks

... How about a SIG for Sherman`s and other related vehicles. thanks Why not put a request in the magazine for interested members to contact you? You could also place a request on the facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/truckmodels/#!/groups/154243277932214/ ... and also ask Phil Cater, Branch Liaison Officer to put a request in the newsletter?
