When I worked to work experience in Preston on 1982-83. I brought my first Airfix MPC 1/20 Scale, McLaren M8D from retail shop, but I'm not remember it. When I building my first M8D with hand paint and poor fit and poor looked it.
When I went to SMW 2007 or 2008, in Telford Exhibition and I found this second Airfix MPC McLaren M8D from Fantasy and fact models,(Now, trader was ceased it) I bought it.
I ready build my second M8D kit after repaired it
I still give up with hand paint and flat & polished on several months, because I was frustrated repaired it.
I made flash bare metal foils on chassis and floor, with mirco metal foil adhesive.
I made the seat harness with photo etches.
I has researched and check my motorsport books and McLaren book. I need looked more details.
I made the blue spark plug leads in this engine, and fuel injection system tubes. I has drill in all intake trumpeters.
I has washes all chromes pieces down with muscle oven and clean it.
I has drilled into outtake exhausts, made real, and I secured cables with exhausts holders, and I searched photo etches pieces for fuel cap.
I has fit little cars.com little lens for rear taillights, but Plastic red lens was no good
I still waiting my second M8D on twenty years!, I has thrown all pieces from my original M8D in bin and kept bodyworks on here
I has problem with intake boxes for brake cooler with front covered and sliced off reduced side body works. I has checked it
I sprayed with rear aero foil with dark blue aerosol.
An original box, Silver aero foil on show, no true. Should be dark blue colour with aero foil
Airfix MPC, McLaren Chevrolet M8D was very rare and conditions, but poor quality moulded pieces.
I has finished my second McLaren M8D on early of this season.
Real 1/1 scale, McLaren Chevrolet M8D was displayed on showroom in Donington Collection museum on1990's, and This car was

I was enter to competition with my McLaren Chevrolet M8D for Scottish Nationals Scale Model Show 2013, and I received my commended, Sigh!
