Nick Hutchenson, joint owner with his brother Michael of the Arts and Craft Studio, Bridge Street Row, is excepted to say goodbye to the family legacy later this week after more than "83 fabulous years of trading, supported by wonderful loyal customers of Chester and traders alike"
The Arts and Crafts Studio was first established in 1924 by Nick's Grand mother, Beatrice Hutchenson, who used to employ a team of women to produce fancy belts and buckles in a workshop on the former premises in St Michael's Arcade
The Family shut up shop and re located to Northgate Street in the late 1920's later moving to what is now the mall Grosvenor shopping centre.
The Hutchenson family continued to trade their wares during and after war, with Nick and Michael's Father Donald, taking over the reins in 1946.
In 1972, It was turn of Son Michael Hutchenson, now of Black Friars, Chester, to get involved, and in late 1980's Brother Nick, who lives in Mold, joined the ranks as joint partner.
