I've got a bit more done on the back end of the space frame, adding the two batteries (only dry fitted at present), the brackets to carry the lights and indicators, the mounting plate for the rear NATO tow hook and the 24v power plug. I also fitted the brackets to the side of the space frame which carry the fork extensions and the lifting frame which converts the forks into a very basic crane. I've not yet seen two Eager Beavers the same, and I am building this to replicate the vehicle shown in the MOD parts manual. The light brackets are different to those on the vehicles that I've photographed so far, but I decided to stick with them for the sake of accuracy. I decided to do the "dangly frame" that carries the rear axle. It's actually a pivoting frame within a pair of brackets fixed to the spaceframe that allows the rear axle to take up any irregularities in the ground. As you may have gathered from the two pics above, I also decided that it was probably time to fix the radiator in place, as I'm going to have to start thinking about putting the dreaded colour on before too much longer. Cheers, Steve

Does anybody know where I can get hold of a 1/24 scale NATO tow hook?

I've just spent two evenings making the transfer box that sits at the middle of the 4WD transmission. The damned thing is only the size of a 6p piece, but it needed to be as accurate as my limited skills could make it. SWMBO leaned over my shoulder yesterday evening as the transfer box was nearing completion and stated "It looks just like a little space Angel"... "Yes, dear" says me nodding, knowing when to keep my gob shut.... Axles and prop shafts this weekend, all being well, although I believe that I'm being "minded" by my 12 year old nieces on Saturday, so plastic butchery will probably be restricted to Sunday. Cheers, Steve

Looking good Steve, no idea where you can get the Nato hooks from, but doesn't Nige use a jewellery clasp? Keep up the good work

I'm probably going to end up scratching the hook, because I've now found it in the parts manual for the EB and it doesn't look too complicated.

Cheers Nige, glad you like it. I've got the pallet build but not yet painted and I've been doing some research on Herforder Pils "yellow handbags" and crates. I shall probably have a go at building a crate or two in the next couple of days. I've not started the figure sculpting - might leave that for the next build....

Brilliant Steve, loved watching it evolve, and as for the finished article ... Can't think of any other superlatives that haven't been said
