My apologies if this subject has been covered elsewhere on here and if so, could someone please point me towards it.
I`m toying with the idea of fitting LED`s to my current 1:24th truck build and although I`m from an electrical background my knowledge on the subject of LED`s and fiber optic cable is just about zero.
Are there any A to Z`s on the subject that anyone can recommend, likewise - suppliers?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Hi Jim Components are easy to pick up here, Ebay for starters or even Maplins. Look on Maplins for books on "how to" as well, there are a number out there. Simple circuits are covered as well as blinking/flashing options etc. Also google the fairground model fraternity, they are really hot on the subject.
Bottom ,line is that each LED needs a resistor associated with it. I've bought the bits myself but never progressed with the project they were intended for - yet.

Hmm. Wonder if I could adapt our model aircraft lighting kit to suit... Ponder, ponder.

Hmm. Wonder if I could adapt our model aircraft lighting kit to suit... Ponder, ponder. Is this the kit being launched at Telford? Any more details, or if different where is it described? Thanks. Just found your earlier posting. Looking forward to more details and pricing. Wish I could go to Telford but I'm elsewhere this weekend

Will let you know when I've prepped the web pages with all the details. We had a lot of enquiries about adapting to vehicles, ships, spacecraft and science fiction characters (Iron Man, mainly). Our first system switches through a stepped up then down cycle, so may not be ideal for vehicles. However, we will be looking at giving a menu-type choice for use with this switching cycle. There are four lighting pins on the chip, each of which will have a choice of colour and strobe effects.

Just built a 1/72 Havoc Turbinelite. Wanted to make it more relistic so popped into Maplins and told him what I wanted to do. He suggested Bright LED, Resistor, battery holder, switch and wire, total cost £3.12. Small hole in fuselage for switch, battery up front so it sits properly and it looks great. Man in shop even drew the circuit diagram for me. Next project is 1/72 Tu 95 with hazard lights
