Hi All, I am just about finished a 1/72nd Matchbox P38 lightning. As you will see I opened the canopy and used the landing gear, cockpit tub and seat, props and undercarriage doors from an Airfix version of the same model. Tamiya tape used to simulate seat harness. Side cockpit windows made from acetate. Hand brush painted and finished. Yes, before the flood of criticism starts, i have to finish painting radiator intakes under props and have to add guns in nose also just noticed decal foepah under cockpit window. Comments All welcome. Good or Bad.

That's a really good finish with the aluminium there mate, and hand brushed as well. What make of paints were you using? I am doing the old 1/72 Hasegawa P-38J at the moment.

Hey Mark, sorry took so long to answer but life gettin in the way of my modelling. I used Revell Acrylic No.90. Silver. Practically neat with a large bristle Humbrol brush. Two coats. I use Acrylics for 99% of my model finishes. Good luck with the P38J. Will.
