Hi there chaps, I'm a real novice at historical and/or scale model making/painting! Coming from a long background of Scifi/Fantasy etc. but have finally given it a go! I've made 5 kits now (wow!) and am very much enjoying the price/aspect/fun of 1/72. My first ever aircraft (I tried when i was young with the usual spitfires, but always failed!), a Matchbox 1/72 Hawker Hurricane MkII-C (PK II), was finished a few days ago. It was an old kit (eerily exactly the same age as I) and I wanted to try painting German markings, so this stolen plane was created. I did not have any transfers, and everything is by brush/freehand etc. I had never tried weatheirng a plane before either! It's not perfect, but as a first attempt, I was quite pleased! What do you think? On to some heavy armour! I picked up a box of StuH 42's from Armourfast a while back, and they were my first go at real world tanks, they were painted quickly, but I think look 'ok' I was trying to create German Autumn Oak cammo.... Next up, is a German captured KV-1 Big Turret from Trumpeter, I really enjoyed making this kit, having (again in my youth) never got to grips with vinyl track... Again I did not have any transfers for either of these kits! I'm currently working on another tank (Sturmgeschütz iii ausf.f) which i will put in the WIP forum. Anyway, any comments appreciated! and here is a link to my photo blog: Blog
Update: Here is the completed Sturmgeschutz III ausf. f. In need of a good wash and some TLC!
