This a 2 day build of the recently released Airfix 1/48 scale kit to illustrate the aircraft as delivered to the Yellowjacks team at RAF Valley for fitting of the smoke system.
My imagination tells me that this aircraft might have needed ferry tanks for delivery to Valley, so before the Yellowjacks had tanks painted to match their yellow scheme, they might have borrowed a set from the normal trainer stock...
It's a very enjoyable kit to work with in 1/48 and has few vices. When I build my next though, I won't be too lazy to paint the interior canopy frame and put the nose gear door on at the correct angle!
