Hi All, I would llike some advice on the best glue for attaching resin parts to styrene. I am attaching new seats to a styrene kit of a VW Beetle.
Many thanks

Cyano, aka superglue, works. Make sure the resin bits - and indeed the plastic - have been washed in soapy water to remove any mould-release agent, as this will affect the glue.

It all depends on what you are looking to achieve.
If the parts are not structural (ie locating a seat in the cockpit) then white or PVA adhesive will suffice.
For a rapid localised join then superglue will be best (ie small aerials to airframes)
For larger joins that require 'wiggle' time then a two part expoxy is a good idea, you can sand a lot of the modern epoxies. If you put a little excess adhesive on the joining faces then you'll find it oozes a little from the joins which can, once dry, be trimmed away with a sharp blade leaving less need for fillers etc.

For resin figures I use cyano, but usually at the join between body & lower body there is a seam, I guess supposed to be hidden by belt kit etc (Verlinden figures). I use one of the UV dental adhesives as a self levelling UV hardening filler. No good as an adhesive as the UV can't penetrate deep enough to cure the glue, but it is great for surface jobs & joint filling.
