Built one many years ago and recently finished the Road Roller. Take your time and paint as you go be sure to allow all the rods on the crankshaft to move when assembled, it won't turn once fitted but if the shafts won't move it won't go in. Be aware that the metal stickers for the boiler bands can stretch so don't trim any excess off for a couple of days to allow them time to settle. Enjoy the build, fantastic model. One other thing the decals in my road roller had become brittle with age and some went on in several pieces but with care and a good dose of micro sol and set looked OK.

I built one of these back in the 1980's. It's a bit of a long ago but I seem to recall it was a reasonably nice kit to assemble, although I do remember that painting of the detail was somewhat time-consuming, but the results can be well worth it if you stick with it. This thread on ATF shows a couple of completed builds and might give you some idea of what can be done. There was also a nice example displayed at this years Bolton Show.

I've done the road roller and have the showman's engine in my stash. Its an old kit with brittle plastic, just take your time as every piece will probably need sanding to remove mould lines etc If the decals are getting old and fragile it may be worth giving them a coat of liquid decal film to give them strength and conherency.
Good luck!

There is an old friend of mine who moved to the IOW a few years ago named Peter Park (also retired). He is an excellent model maker and keen on old vehicles. I don't know his address but I believe that there is a model shop in Cowes that is owned by a French chap, and that there is a model club that holds monthly meetings at the shop that Peter attends. Hope this is of help.

Did this many years ago. Took a great many hours but I was very pleased with my 'Pendle Princess'.
