I've been scratch building this vehicle in 1/24 scale for over a year now, and the end is in sight, thank goodness. Obviously, I've still got the cab to finish, paint and fix in place, and a bit of gentle weathering to do. Steve

Thanks for the kind words guys, should be able to see it in the flesh at Cosford 2016, with a bit of luck. I've finally managed to sort out the hook, which has been "taxing" me for over a month. I had originally used some ship modelling cord (used for anchor cables and the like) stiffened using CA adhesive for the steels hawser that holds the hook block, but I couldn't get the damned thing to look right. I then changed it for braided steel hawser, 0.8mm diameter, which looked much better, but it wouldn't run through the pulleys and look as though there was a weight on the end (too springy). Whilst waiting outside a local dance hall last night for my wife and her chums to appear, I had a flash of inspiration ( nothing else to do but read) and decided to cut the wire hawser into appropriate lengths so that they would look straight when fixed with CA. Not perfect now, but a hell of a lot better than it was...
