Here we go again.
This year’s show is on Sunday, 9th October at the Grandstand, Southwell Racecourse, Rolleston, Notts NG25 0-TS (www.southwell-racecourse.co.uk/). The structure of the show is slightly different this year. Up until now, we have managed to maintain free admission to the show, which has largely been financed by the traders who have rented sales space. However, the increasing cost of both venue- and table-hire means that this is no longer possible. Charging admission means tightening security, so the many exits that were left conveniently open for casual access will now be closed, except for emergencies. If you are a smoker, you will need to bear this in mind.
The other features of the show – free parking, sumptuous catering, rest areas and friendly atmosphere – will all remain as before, and I feel confident that all our visitors will help to make it a resounding success.
At the moment, our confirmed exhibitors include :
580 Modellers Beyond the Box SIG Bomber Command SIG Bridlington & Wolds SMC Emergency Services SIG Hull Scale Model Club IPMS Armour TAS IPMS Barnsley IPMS Belvoir IPMS Cleveland IPMS Fenland IPMS Kitmaker IPMS Lincoln IPMS Newark IPMS Rotherham IPMS Rutland IPMS Stafford IPMS Wakefield IPMS West Norfolk IPMS West Riding (Leeds) Leicester Modellers Luftwaffe SIG New Zealand SIG Nottingham and District Model Club Nottingham MAFVA Nottinghamshire Scale Modellers RAF Germany SIG SIG 144 Staffordshire Moorlands Model Club The Spitfire SIG
We look forward to seeing you there!

Southwell This Sunday
Timings, road closures and final details.
Hi folks,
Network Rail are proceeding with signalling and line management improvements on the Nottingham to Newark Castle line, which involves the removal of manned signal boxes and the installation of automatic barriers at level crossings.
Unfortunately, from our point of view, this means that the crossings at Rolleston and Fiskerton will be closed from the evening of October 8th for approximately FIVE WEEKS. If you approach Southwell Racecourse from the Newark direction, and are used to taking the ‘short cut’ through Staythorpe and Rolleston, you will not be able to do so this year. The only access to the Racecourse will be from Southwell itself, via the long straight Racecourse Road, which is clearly signposted from the A612 on the northern edge of Southwell.
For those unused to this approach, it can seem interminable, and it had a fine selection of speedhumps. It is barred at the Racecourse end by a large metal gate which will NOT be unlocked before 7 am.
We hope to open to traders from 0705, and to clubs & SIGs from 0745. Food should be available from 0900 to 1500. The bar will be open from 1200 to 1400. The show will close at 1600 or soon after,
Admission will be strictly via wristbands. If you don’t already have one they can be purchased on the day : Adults—£2, Juniors (under 16)—Free. This is our first year with this system, so please be patient with us!
If you need help or support during the day, you should find it at the Lincoln & Newark tables, near the competition area, or from one of our ‘badged’ stewards.
I’m sorry to have to tell you that John Adams and Aeroclub are not able to attend this year.
See you on Sunday!
