I have a very good friend and co-worker who is finally retiring from his second career. In his previous career he flew B-52Gs and E-3 AWACS before retiring from the U.S. Air Force as Colonel. We had talked at length about his B-52 days, and his favorite duty assignment at Castle AFB, CA with the 34th Bomb Squadron, but attached to the 366th Wing at Mountain Home AFB, ID. So as a retirement gift, I thought I would make him a straight wing B-52G model. I did not have time to bring an early 1/72 AMT/ERTL straight wing B-52G up to late standards, so I found the Revell 1/144 B-52G #4583 (with strakelets) and substituted a Revell B-52H #4584 fuselage (straight wing). I am posting on Scalemates (SCM) as it is just plain easier to post my photos as I am working on the kit using my smartphone. Here is the link. www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=11761&p=projects&project=44623 Any comments can be posted here, if not a member of SCM. Oh as a special treat, the modelling friend who generously swapped fuselages with me also printed the exact markings I needed for the project using an ALPS printer. Regards, Dutch
