Hi all , I have found an easy way to replicate cast armour esp like that on the T 34 etc , as with most new techniques it was by accident . All you have to do is brush on liquid polly on the turret side and rub it in the plastic dust on your modelling mat , repeat as many times till satisfied . Leave it for 10 minutes and then seal with an other coat of liquid polly . You can replicate light casting or very heavy as on the T 34 /85 turrets , and the best part is it is Free. As with all new techniques try on a piece of scrap plastic first . cheers ian

I have a pot with Resin Dust in it from sanding down kit's so perhaps this technique would also work with this?

Hi Ian , I would try it with white wood glue as a tester before using superglue for a more perm solution . If you do try it let us all know , information shared is not lost . I also think it may be of use for rusty exhausts on tanks or the BR 52 loco I am waiting to start etc cheers ian

Not a bad idea that Ian I shall try picking up plastic dust with my goat mop brush and then tapping the dust onto the poly coated surface.
