Hi I needed some wood to make planks for a model , walking past my greengrocers I noticed several wooden boxes thrown out for the refuse collection . Being polite I asked the owner if I could look through them and select the nearest to what I wanted . Answer Take as many as you want and as often. So instead of buying some scale wood at rip off prices , check your local Grocer and see what is available . As soon as my camera batteries are charged I will post photos of before and after . Great for those truck flat beds cheers ian

Ian, you could also ask your local joiner, you'd probably be amazed at the wood offcuts i give away as firewood.

or use those kfc coffee stirrers , the long thin wood ones that look like lolly sticks . i managed to snaffle a box of 1000 , they make greta stirirers and could be used as scale boards i think

I would have thought it was a bit thick for trailer beds, but I am watching with interest as I am not far off paying out for some doll's house floorboarding!

If Ian's bed is a bit lumpy for you you could try looking for Obechi wood, a tropical farmed hardwood that can be found in model aircraft shops. We even get to be green here as we modellers use sizes not usually used by other wood workers Might be worth a look as it might work out cheaper than Doll's house boards...
