Hi all , I have developed a method for using felt tip pens in our hobby . It can be used for rust , oil stains , smoke effects , general weathering etc , It can be used by all sections , Aircraft , cars , figures, Military , ships , and Science Fiction . To follow and experiment for yourself you will need to buy from the Pound shop a set of Felt tip pens , discard the girlie colours . So my question is do you want me to set up a tutorial of how to achieve this effect? Depending on the response I will start it in one week from now. cheers Ian see examlple of set available

hi To start you of , you will need a piece of plastic sheet about 2in by 6 in , and primed in flat grey , I have picked this colour as it shows the effect best when scanned . So you have a week to get ready . cheers ian

Hi all here we go , you need to select the rust colours from the 50 pens in the set , see scan . the method is very simple , all you need is your finger tip and the primed sheet of plastic to practice on. Starting with the darkest brown first place several dots on the primed area and smear , then repeat over the top of this first layer and to the sides exanding the area but using lighter shades each time . I will give you time to practice before showing a worked example in stages cheers ian

hi all due to a hole in my roof today and water dripping onto my PC I will have to put this project on hold , till I get a new screen , key pad and mouse , and of course the hole fixed , I am limited as to the area I can put my PC in due to internet connection and electrics . So very sorry about this , as soon as I am able I will let you know , I am on my old Laptop and it is hand crank . cheers ian

Good on yer, Ian lad! Close-up of oiler as seen from flight deck .....
We've known for years that clapped-out felt tips, discarded by the kids as empty and not pointy any more, are lovely for exhaust stains etc, and can even do wave-mirror camouflage on Luftwaffe night fighters. But this is the first time I've seen a use for new ones. 10/10 VG *! Bri (with thanks)
