I need some red numbering to apply to the fin of a U-2 in 1/72nd scale. Do you have any ideas where I can get this. I may also need USAF lettering for the wing - 36" - but I wonder whether the Airfix B-57 includes this ( I have one in the loft!) I would appreciate your suggestions Thanks

Dunno where you'd find this ready-made, but try the font "Amarillo" on Expert's Choice or Crafty decal paper - see DIY decal strand for more details than you'd ever really want! Regards, Bri.

Thanks Bri
I am still reviewing the options! Why doesn't someone just produce a load of numbers and letter like Modeldecal did with thec RAF? Whats more, as Microscale are so huge, why don't they?

Simon, As Alfie says Microscale/Superscale did produce many sheets sheets of USAF letters, numbers and titles. The following comes from my old scribbled notes from years back.
Sheets 72-213, 214, 215 and 216 did 24 & 36 inch letters/numbers in black, white, yellow and insignia blue respectively while sheets 72-228. 229, 230 and 231 did 6, 9, 12, 18, 21 and 30 inch characters in the same colours.
The only red characters I have a note of are on sheets 72-311 but I don't know what size they were. Microscale later added sheets in various low-visibility greys 35237 and 36495 sheet number were something like 72-394, 399 400 and 411(this last one being the sheet Alfie refers to above). "US AIR FORCE" titles for the fuselage and "USAF" wing titles in black were available on sheets 72-188 & 189 respectively. Sadly all these sheets are long since out of print.
