Advanced Early Warning? Nimrods and such right Try Airborne Early Warning. I was involved with the Nimrod AEW, and I'm planning to do a conversion when the Airfix model arrives.

Julien ;D I was planning on just doing a Milliput conversion, my apologies if it sounds a bit more than that. It won't be easy, and won't be started till after the Phantom display Nov 2008, but it's something I have to do. In the meantime, if anybody does want to produce something easier I will be very interested.

There was a Nimrod AEW conversion for sale at Cosfrod yesterday. It was priced at £25 and very nice it looked too. The man selling it was telling everyone that it will be available from the end of next week.

it was mr cammet who was selling these- try giving him a call or check out the website. the other interesting bit is that MDC are planning a 1/32 me 262 recce update- saves me a bit of scratchbuilding

They're not on the Cammett website as yet. The man did say that the sets were 2 weeks away from being ready as they were still working on the instruction sheets. The rear radome plugs into the rear fuselage and is cast around a foam core to prevent tailsitting. The forward radome is hollow cast to allow sufficient ballast to be added to keep the aircraft on its undercarriage. Both have the ribbed detail moulded on them. There will be no decal sheet included. My only concern is will the nose leg stand up to the weight?

I have just ordered my Nimrod AEW Conversion set from Cammet, the lady on the phone informed me that they are having to do a second production run as all 19 sets of the first batch have been sold out. Second batch should be available from tomorrow. they cost £27.45 including postage, they are on Tel No 01544 388514, get em while you can if you want one. I suppose there will be lots of AEW Nimrods at SMW08.

Just your marvellous Nimrod AEW on the Reconnaissance display......................
Look forward to seeing it!
Is the 'mod' any good? Do I need to invest?

Ian
Thank you for the heads up. I've been fooled by the 'more news soon' message on their home page. I've just enquired by email and was told that the set is available under the aircraft kits section of their website at £24.95 + £2.50 postage. The credit card is a little heavier now!
