As I said in my earlier thread, it will improve my motivation to finish this enormous beast if I post a WIP series. Hopefully it will be interesting to everyone else. My intention is to do a Mildenhall-based SR-71A in the later "lo-vis" scheme (ie smaller stars'n'bars and red numbers). I'm using Testors 1:48 kit and a True Details cockpit set. Anyway, not got very far yet, but let's face it, digging this out of the loft and assembling my references is progress because I've been intending to do it for the last three years at least. So here's the first two shots. Back later when I try and remember to photograph as I go along! Check out the 12" ruler - it's a huge box! Watch this space ...

Ayup Mike, any chance of making construction notes and doing an article for the mag?

It's not just about when it all goes right, but when things go wrong, warts and all. Actually, it makes good reading when things go wrong, it proves you're a modeller, not just someone who sticks things together, go for it.

Mike,
looking forward to see how this one turns out.
I think I have some photos (old stylee print ones!) of Mildenhall birds somewhere I can dig out for you if you want?
