Lysander is now virtually complete - it was an old Italieri/Testors kit which went together very well and very easily. In fact went together to quick for me to capture the build in pictures. Fuslage base colour of Vallejo Flat Tan Once masked, was sprayed with Vallejo US Green. Can also see where the ring was sprayed with vallejo metallic bright brass Paint needed a little touch up where it crept under the mask but is now complete you will note that the codes are not on yet You may notice I forgot the tail wheel - rectified Just one or two minor touch ups to do, the intention is to model KO-T from 2 Sqn in mid 1940 whose exploits are mentioned in the officil history of 2 Sqn on their website. The model i not completely correct in that I dont have the spat mounted guns and the serial code is wrong but I think it will suffice - just need to source some generic codes of the right size. Paul

They measure 17mm high and are a kind of sea grey colour. If you have some then great.

Great model senter104, did you use Klear on the canopy. I have just learnt that this is a good medium for glazeing windows. Haveing tried it out, it looks the same as yours, the canopy glaze not the aircraft, thats why I ask ;D. I have to go along way to come to your finish on aircraft.

Foxy One of the first things I do is to dip the canopy in a small pot of klear, then place it on a tissue to 'wick' away the excess. Once it is dry I then put it back in its polly bag until I am ready to mask the canopy. I was a bit disappointed with the canopy in this kit as it was discoloured - not sure how but it is quite an old kit. Tried polishing it out and gave it a couple of coats of Klear - its not brill but only if you know where to look . Klear is brilliant stuff - also run a few coats through the airbrush prior to adding the decals. Gives the model a semi gloss to gloss sheen depending on how many coats you spray. Its also useful for putting decals on especially if they have a heavy carrier film. Put some klear in a little pot, soak the decal in water, lift it off its backing paper, remove the excess water and dip in the Klear. Then place it on the model and most of the carrier film should disappear. A quick once over with micro sol will hide the rest. Thanks for the comments - first RAF plane I have done for years. Paul

Colin
Yes thank you for the letters, they arrived safe and sound, I have the sheets of RAF letters for you too, keep meaning to put them in the post but never get round to it - I will, I promise. To be honest the modelling has taken a bit of a back seat to work and home commitments. As soon as I get the chance to clear some space and set myself up ill post some pictures.
