"Back To Old Mother Russia" Except This Time With a Twist.....
The story Hitler died in late 44 of a Heart Attack.. Germany sued for a Condishinial Surrender.. The SS was disbanded, a new unit The Wolfs Guard was formed.. The Maltese Cross replaced the Swastika on all uniform emblems and flags.. The German War Machine was aloud to continue to build and develop equipment and arms.. This is a combined force of German and Allied Troops disembarking from a freight train on their way to OLD MOTHER RUSSIA Spring 1946.. The Freight Train is being a competed by an Armored Train
This is my story and I am sticking to it ;D ;D ;D

Looks great, very nice work. I was wondering, was it normal for these locomotives to not have any forward facing windows?

Hello Wolf,
great job building this armored class 52. Only one mistake's there. There never was an AA-gun on the tender decking. The top of the tender is the top of the water compartment, there is no possibility to secure the AA-gun and it's to weak for the recoil power. A second reason is that there is not enough room in the profile for a gun. Somewhere in the net you can find a photo of a AA-Gun on top of a tender of a German steam engine, but this photo is an error in looking, the gun is on a tower behind the tender. The drawing in Dt. Panzerzüge p. 134 is just a project, the tender for this train is on the left side of the right AA-gun-wagon. As far as I know there was only one fully armored BR 52 in the conquered by Czechoslovakian partisans and used by Czech army a short time after WWII and then rebuilt to normal condition. Most armored steam engines in Germany during WWII belonged to class 57. There are good scale drawings of BP 42, 44 and rail-cars in 'Panzerzug I & Panzerzug II' by Waldemar Trojca ISBN 3-925 480-47-1 & 3-925 480-71-4
Sorry for my bad English style.
Regards Roland

... There never was an AA-gun on the tender decking Roland, at last, a definitive answer, can you remember where you saw this photograph you mentioned?

Wow! ... superb modelling Wolf, although I'd love a definitive answer about the positioning of that flak on the tender?
