WIP AMT Mustang GT '94

[The Hooded Claw]

I've read a lot of bad things about AMT's car kits so was not surprised when this turned out to be a real dog of a build. I'm actually building it for a Club group display for SMW this year so total detailling is not really appropriate, thank god!

I've ended up building it bonnet fixed and only installed the lower half of the engine! The chassis is going to be shades of Black only and I may even stick with the kit Chrome work!

The body is part preped in this picture, I have removed the door handles for the slight custom look i'm aiming for.



More progress as I go provided It doesn't get thrown at the wall!

If this turns out as good as the V8 it will be very impressive, look forward to seeing this at SMW.

Got back down to this last night. Been working on the seams for the bonnet fit which are attrocious. The rest of the body is not too bad. The chassis is complete and painted so I've just got the body and glazings to sort.

Changed my mind on colour I'm going Radical Red, hence the White Primer. Watch this space.

Decided that it really did need a lift so after half an hour's creative masking and a little Zero Porsche Slate Grey Metallic here we have it.

Finally finished the thing. Not the best model I've built this year but at least it is finished.

The turned Exhausts are courtesy of Steve H himself. I only rang him for Ideas and ended up with these monsters exactly what I had in mind as well.

All paints are Zero One, clear is Pre Mixed Zero.
