As well as the bikes I have got on the go at the moment I decided to start this project. I started with Tamiya's Mini Cooper 1275 S Rally Car as below : and turn it into a two seater roadster ;D. First I removed all the unwanted plastic, quarter lights, rear window and the tops of the doors. Following this I deseamed it and then utilizing a cheap plastic mini toy I found, cut of the arches to give this Mini a wider stance : I then added the bumpers and blended them in to the arches and used the roof to make the roadster look on the back: I will get some better pictures of the engine tomorrow but you can just see it in the background on this picture, but I have added the leads and made a new coil from brass rod and a bracket from spare photo-etch. I mounted the coil as per the more modern series 3 Mini's on the cylinder head: And this is where the bodyshell is upto now, I will get pictures on of the chassis hopefully tomorrow: Gone for the completely smooth look with no door and boot handles and also smoothed out the boot lid removing the number plate housing:

Very nice job Spike - what wheels are your planning? Rich Thanks for the comment, Rich. And as regards to the wheels it has been a hard job trying to fine some small enough to fit but have got some and hopefully they will not look to bad. They are from a honda kit with some cut down low profile tyres. I will take a picture of them soon. And here is a picture of the chassis as it stands, borrowed some seats from another to get a sportier look on the inside:

Finally after a very long build got the Mini finished, not completely happy with it, but was my very first attempt at this much modification: Pictures are a little dark so will have to take a few in daylight:
