Well heres one I did earlier .. This is the Revell kit of the MK2 Escort WRC ' I bought this kit at great expense (£7.99) from modelzone the kit itself is a pretty good kit apart for the rear lights didn't fit properly , and the decals for the rear number plate were white instead of yellow I started the engine in this kit but lost interest as I figured its not going to be seen anyway , as its under the bonnet The interior I just did a basic job on ...which means all my time could be spent on weathering this old beast ;D I painted the whole car with the Revell aqua range of paints ( You should try these they are amazing ) then I got onto the job of weathering , I started to use the Tammy flat brown first , but the finish looked too red So I switched to Tamiya flat earth and that came out too red as well So in the end I went for tamiya buff and success ..so after a long time of weathering (about 30 seconds), here it is all dirty and done

Cheers, Steve Well Steve how can I put this ..on a scale of 1-10 tammy paints are about 6 now revell aqua paints are about 100 There a lot lot better ..so easy to use , they don't clog up the airbrush The metal colours look like metal ..where as the tammy ones look like metallic paints The gloss paint are gloss (mix them with tammy thinners there even glosser) I just can't fault them ..and they was off the airbrush with water Oh And there dry in 1 hour .. I decalled after 3 hours ;D In my book there fantastic

Sean, I may have to invest in a couple of pots of this Aqua stuff. I've seen it in Modelzone but never gave them much notice. I've just started to use LifeColor, they are great and like the Revell ones clean up with water and, they don't stink the house out. Tamiya are good paints with a decent range of colours but I tend to get mixed results with them these days Cheers, Steve

Is it the old Esci kit repedalled under the Revell banner? Ayup Noel, as far as I know it's the old Esci kit, of which I still have a boxed original in Post Office markings. I've emailed Sean and asked if he's like to re-post a set of pictures of his model.

Ayup Nick The Revell Mk2 is the old Esci kit which was also released in the Eaton Yale livery. It was also released as a 'crystal' kit (clear body) with BA livery. The solid version I believe was also released with Rothmans livery (before the days of tobacco censorship).
The PO/Datapost version was the Mk3 AMT offering. I also have this buried in the stash somewhere, undergoing conversion to the turbo version iirc......
Cheers Rich

We are working on a MK1 kit but are not going to rush it, we intend having a detailled interior instead of an engine -although we may look at other options once it's up and available, idea's & views welcome.

Keep us informed please Steve, if need be, there's a page on the IPMS (UK) web site if you need it, just let me know.

We should have some shots of the car this week which will be forwarded to our master maker and then on to the "builder" I'm sure you don't mind waiting for a good kit rather than a rushed one, we also want to keep it as cheap as possible I still enjoy making models even after nearly 43 years.

We have given the go ahead this afternoon for the Escort MK1 rally car , we are going to do it without an engine but a well detailled interior, we would welcome any feedback as to what versions you would like so we can start the permission chats etc and decide how many of each version. Watch for pics and updates as we go along . Steve
