Funnily enough I'm building it even as you type.
If you get one be very careful with the side panel fitting. I followed the kit instructions and went front then rear. In retrospect I'd reverse that.
Oh and I've Id'd what all the racing numbers refer to. The spare head lights go in the front grill and are for the Le-mans and Sebring cars (12 and 14 respectivly) and 102 is Hawthorn & Von Trips Targa Florio car. Knowing my love of all things Sicilian which one am I building! Only problem is that I cannot find a single period picture showing the closed over fuel filler cap on a race car. It seems to be solely a feature of 'customer' cars.
I'll post pictures shortly and hope to have it done for ModelSport.

Richard Don't know if you invested in one of these kits in the end. You will recall the conversations regarding those Hasegawa Etched wheels and their accuracy. I have now obtained the following: www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=82&products_id=2425 The wire wheels in this set are simply superb. And combined with all the bits n bobs therein make fantastic value for money. Ian

Hi H I agree with your synopsis professor!
Just for a bit of extra information re '58 Le Mans Testa Rossa's: There were three types entered; 250TR, 250TR58, 500TR and they finished (or not) as follows:
#14 1st TR58 Works #21 6th TR Equipe Nationale Belge (Studio 27 sheet 763) #22 7th TR Ed Hugus (Studio 27 sheet 763 & new Hasegawa kit) #25 DNF 500TR N.A.R.T. #12 DNF TR58 Works #16 DNF TR58 Works #19 DNF TR N.A.R.T. (Studio 27 sheet 762) #20 DNF TR Equipe Los Amigos (Studio 27 sheet 762) #18 DNF TR N.A.R.T. (Studio 27 sheet 762) #17 DNF TR Fernand Tavano (Studio 27 sheet 762) #58 DNF TR Eccurie Francorchamps (Studio 27 sheet 763)
The TR58 was significantly different with all the forward pannels being reshaped. The 500TR had a larger engine but the body style was more similar to the TR than the TR58.

Interesting, Scuderia No 28 lists the TR58 race number 14 as, driven by Hill and Genbedien chassis number 0728TR, this car had previously appeared in 1958 at Sebring and driven by Hawthorn and Von Trips was a DNF. The photos I have of the car at that point show it in standard 250TR configuration. Were the TR58s therefore rebuilds of other cars? More importantly this car was also my beloved 102 from the 1958 Targa. I know it finished in a damaged condition, so was it rebuilt as a result of this accident damage. There is a photo in the above book of 7028TR as race number 14 at Le Mans, the body work at the front and the bonnet bulge are radically different. That would make for an interesting but fairly tricky conversion.
More as I discover it.

They also do the 500TRC from '57 and the 59/60 '60 winner. Rich

This is the 250TR58 No 14 racing at LeMans in 1958. Clearly the subject of a rebuild with a very different bonnet spine and front end. I have examined my spare standard kit and find that the bonnet and various parts on the sprues are 'gated' and there is clear evidence of a slide block on the underside of the body moulding. This suggests further variants may be along in the fullness of time. perhaps their plans include the TR58 and 500TR. They have the basis of both in this kit. H
