Hi All I've found the best route to a 1/72 PR.7 is to start with the Airfix B.57, this has two advantages, first off, for some reason the fuselage is the right length,up to the fuselage transportation joint, this is odd as it should be the same as a B.2, and secondly, the bomb bay is skinned over, making it essayer to re-scribe the forward fuel tank and flare bay, there are also two doors marked on the forward fuselage that correspond to two of the four camera doors. You do have to change the nose back to the British type, and do some mods to the wings, or use the ones from the B.(I)6 but as far as I'm concerned it's the best way of getting a PR.7, PR.3 or T.22 in this scale. Aeroclub used to do an injection Canberra nose in 1/72, this was very good and worth looking for, I'm not sure if it is still in the catalog or not.

Oh b*gger! Wish i'd bought an Airfix B57 now. Yeah, very strange that the fuselage is longer, it's almost as if Airfix were going to release a PR3/7 and then changed their minds at the last minute!
Aeroclub bits are hard to get hold of but with the new 72nd Canberra kits coming out hopefully John Adams will re-release some of the Canberra bits

Hi Neil That thought had crossed my mind too about the kit,Unfortunately it's a rubbish B.57 but it makes a good start for a PR.7. Oh well, you never know what may come in the future. Hopefully Aeroclub will re do some of the Canberra things, I've seen an undercarriage set advertised, no idea what it's like though

Sent Aeroclub an email today in the vain hope that they might have a PR3/7 conv. kicking around somewhere but alas not. However... I'm getting too lazy, it's not hard to extend a Canberra fuselage by 5mm, it's well within my limits. It kind of sums up modelling today, a lot of people expect to be able to get anything they want because there's so much out there at the moment, now I want a PR3/7 conversion rather than do it from scratch myself, I'm falling into the same trap. I've built (but not finished yet ) a Highplanes B2 and it was an enjoyable project that involved real modelling, though I converted it to a T4 for various reasons. Maybe I need to do some proper modelling for the PR3/7 and convert it myself. I've got the Aeroclub nose wheels and the B2 vacform canopy, not great by today's resin standards but good enough for my needs.
