Just had e-mail from E-Models. Airfix releasing kit seen in Santander ads in first week of December to 1/32nd scale. Kit ref 50008. No price but opportunity to pre-order. Anyone going to tap Airfix to try to get at SMW?

£23 FOR A PREPAINTED SNAP KIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are they insane!!!!!!!!!! Its not even this years car for Gods sake. If it was the one fronm the ad (1:16th I think it was), then fine, but this one only has 17 parts! That has SO got to be a typo Mark
Edit: Screw together kit not snap kit sorry

Santander need to recover their losses somewhere and I guess they see this as an easy hit! But at that price they ain't going to sell as many as they could! Rich

I must admit that I thought it was the one from the Ad. when I received E-Models e-mail. 1/32nd is a bit small - I thought it would be more like 1/20th or 24th. No doubt its not aimed at us - no doubt they will sell a load via F1 shops etc but I would have thought Minchamps or similar would have done one already. I think it should have been larger and exactly like the Ad then it would have been a proper coup. We should probably harangue Airfix at SMW about it!

I overheard at the Airfix stand at the weekend that they are only making 10,000 kits! and they have already sold over 9000 (If you can believe what the staff were primed to say)

that means about 8998 will be available in bargain bins after about 6 months at a more resonable price.

that means about 8998 will be available in bargain bins after about 6 months at a more resonable price. Or on eBay at twice the price.
