SDKFZ 222 ARMOURED CAR

Hi Guys, im planning on doing a small diarama featuring this kit and the nice dragon officers at kursk. What i would like to know is, did this ac operate at kursk, and also would it have been in the standard panzer grey. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Dave.

Well the SdKfz222s served nearly up to the end of the war, and were used in most theaters of war for recce, all though I have not seen any pictures or films with this vehicle at Kursk,
But it was a standard AC so presume it was in that fight.

As for colour, Well panzer Grey was the first colour used, but later North Africa a desert yellow was painted over the Panzer Grey colour, and later as standard a sand yellow was used, but not on all of these, some in Norway were still panzer Grey in 1944.
