Hi all , sometimes a single photo inspires you to build the unusual . So it was with a factory photo of the frame used to form the mould for casting T 34 turrets . I decided to build one along with a turret that had been cast , this had to include the casting lugs . I made the frame from sizing up and scratchbuilding it from plastic card and U channel . see photo one cheers ian

An intriguing model Ian! As you know I'm very interested in anything T-34. Not seen the original photo of this one- can you let me know which book it's in please? Look forward to seeing the finished item too. Mix of rust tones and oiled metal for the finish..? Nice chocolate brown if it's got a lot of Manganese in it, any clues as to the composition of the mould?

hi Howard the frame is made from metal U shaped channel welded and bolted together , I need to add the bolts to the bottom plate and a venting tube for the hot gases to escape , then it is on to the painting stage . cheers ian
