Good question Ian, truth is I don't know!
The SIG requested and was allocated display space at SMW08 but then didn't display.
No reason has been given to me for this.

Well to be honest I said I would be interested in the SIG but never heard anything else. I didn't even know it had display space at SMW, If I had i would have brought some "cats" to display

Heads up all.
I e-mailed Ian(snufflemunchie) about the SIG status and this was his reply.
Hi Ian, Not good I,m afraid. Since I initially proposed it and had it set in stone with Rob M, I have had a significant change in circumstances which resulted in I and my family relocating to the other end of the country following a job change. This kind of took priority over everything else in 2008 really. Rightly so, Rob was not pleased with me at SMW over the non appearance and non communication of the SIG at the show, and I can only apologise to him for that. Its really up in the air now (scuse the pun!), and if it is to remain then apparenty I need to lobby the members to see if they think it is still viable and if they want to keep it on. Given my new circumstances it is going to be difficult for me to continue leading it (I am also now chairman of the Newbury Scale Model Club as well!), so I am not sure what to do with it. Any suggestions welcome. Given that it never really got off the ground (I hate puns!), I don,t think it wil be missed much, and given that there is the US Navy SIG, it might be a better place for Tomcatters to congregate, but I,m open to suggestions really. Regards, Ian
West Riding has two catters and it looks as if we will keep building them for the branch, unless anyone wants to take the SIG on of course.
Happy new year all!
IAN
