And finally the rear transmission and suspension partially cleaned up and dummied up together. Any one any ideas as to where the parts may have originated? H

Here are a handful of pictures I've taken tonight showing the now almost full sanded body moulding. I'm still debating opening up the radiator ducts completly, I'll mull it over tomorrow at work and make a decision tomorrow night. I just wish they'd moulded the front suspension fairings separate to the nose would have made clean up much easier. H

With a view to trying to work out the suspension geometries and the correct ride height I've dummied up the rear suspension fully and tacked it with Superglue. With the front lower arms in place and the wheels 'plonked' on I was able to take these photographs. As you can see the model currently rides tail down which is I believe because I routed out the rear transmission mounts too deeply. I had to do this because they were not evident at all on my moulding as originally supplied. So not entirely my fault. The wheel hubs do not sit far enough into the wheels themselves which is an easy fix with nested brass tube. Looking more like a car now. H

Hi H Just stumbled across the Roger Taylor article on the Tipo 179 in Scale Models (Feb 81). Any interest?
Cheers Rich
