I bought this kit nearly two years ago. After an initial burst of activity it has been back in the box for a very long time. Ace are a small Brazilian producer of 1/20th F1 kits. They specialise in the unusual unkitted stuff. I have a number of their kits in the 'stash', in fact I now have all three incarnations of the 179, so I'd better work out how to build them properly.
Well after about a year of languishing in my WIP pile the Alfa has finally made it back into the light of day.
Here are a few shots of the body after a couple of evenings work.
As can be seen the rear decking is of variable thickness but is cleaning up quite well. Most of the filler you see here it to cover up a couple of large cracks from my ham fistedness in the initial clean up process.
I'll take this one step at a time and hopefully I'll end up with a 179C
