Finished at last the ACE limited injection run of the AF-2W Guardian Note the high gloss on the real thing, I'm finding it difficult to recreate that high gloss with Klear any body got any better ideas or products to use? I wouldn't recomend the kit, the oly good bits being the photo etched parts I used for the first time. Although not strictly "Recce" it did look for things! Ian S.

Stunning job Ian, have you tried a test shot with Humbrol Gloss Varnish? ... or do you want to stick with Acrylic, in which case, try Vallejo Gloss Varnish.

Hi Ian, the reason you are having a job trying to get a gloss finish with Klear is that it is not a gloss varnish, it is an acrylic varnish for Vynil floor coverings and if it were glossy I feel Johnsons would be sued for someone slipping over on it in the kitchen etc. etc. If you want a gloss finish then use gloss paint, blue is one of the easiest colours to get a gloss finish, if you can't do that then use a good gloss varnish, Humbrol do a couple. looks like you made a good job of the model anyhow. Congrats Ian ! If you can get such an outstanding result from this kit you will have no problems with Mach2 subjects if you want ! Re glossy finish see: www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.htmlgo to the end of the article to "Future and Simple Green" or try to buff the Future finish coat with a soft cloth or better yet with a small motor tool and a polishing wheel (cloth discs) available from Dremel of Motorcraft accessories. Good luck, Rolf
