I'm hoping that one of our brethren from the USA is perusing our site and might be willing to help.
In the July 1981 and the March 1983 issues of the American IPMS Magazine were printed articles on the Douglas AD-5W Skyraider "Guppy". I'm hoping that one of our cousins will have copies of one or both mags and be willing to scan the Guppy Articles for me as I am currently researching this aircraft as I have 2 x 1/72nd and 2 x 1/48th models to build and there isn't a great deal of printed material printed on this particular aircraft (I'm awaiting my copy of "Guppy Pilot" to arrive from the States any day now).
Thanks in anticipation.

Seb,
Those scans are absolutely brilliant they are just what I have been searching for. Are they the USA IPMS articles? Only one minor snag the fist one on the right as I look at them on screen 16u6p13.gif will not enlarge. Can I ask nicely if you could re-scan it for me please.
Thanks very much again I greatly appreciate your kindness.

If still no joy, www.eusebio.ch/images/IPMS/AD5N_W/16U6p13.gifThey are the IPMS USA Update Vol 16 Iss 6 and Vol 18 Iss 5.

Colin, Yep the AEW Mk1 is progressing well now, will try and put some photos on this post. I've just had another Tamiya Skyraider delivered today, to butcher for the wings and front end for an AD-5W that Andrew is going to build for me as a Grey & White one. I'll do the Blue Marines one, thats where I might get stuck on the decals as I'm still short of some large white letters, but not decided on which Squadron to do yet on that one. Note those boxes underneath the flame guards, they were murder to do and several modellers forget them when doing the AD-4W , they were particular to that version of the Skyraider You can see Kylie looking after my research material ! Alfie, thanks for the Cockpit Green rear compartment detail, luckily that's what I used but don't know how much will be visible through the bubble windows. Hoping to do some more over the weekend, grafting a Tamiya cowling, engine and prop on. Cheers for now. Ian S

Southsix1, Oh yes you can ! (Now) That will teach me to organise my folders in Photobucket, sorry Ian S. You're forgiven ... ... Incidentally, are those books arranged like that coz you ain't got a bookshelf, or is it a a case of putting them on there for a quick read whilst raiding the fridge? ;D

Thanks for your forgiveness Sir, I was having a senior moment.
The books were arranged to be able to send a photo to my Brazilian mate Sergio (who is writing a book on AEW Aircraft, in Portuguese unfortunately) which Skyraider books I'd bought as I don't think he believed that I'd bought most of that lot since Christmas, but of course "The Boss" has now also seen the quantity of my illicit purchases (you'd think it was porn! ). Sometimes I wonder if I'm a modeller or a researcher.
Oh and the ALL the new shelves I put up in the spare bedroom last weekend are taken up by the Boss's collection of Harrods Teddy Bears.
So you're not wrong Nick, good news is I've got the green light for Telford this year in return.
