I didn't know we'd included a railway section, and after building almost as many 'V' bombers as the RAF had I was burnt out of my usual aircraft modelling. Then I sank to the Dark Side ..... and started spending money on railroad stuff. Now I expect this area is aimed more for larger scale plastic models rather than layout building and such, however I've introduced some of the local RMC to improving, weathering and renumbering wagons, and as far as I'm concerned this is still modelling with plastic components ! Here is a shot or so of my layout currently under construction - all DCC including the 14 point motors. Earlier in the 'build' Weeks later when the station plarform lights were fitted and tested - a great 'evening look' Will have to get back to those 400 plastic kits soon !! Geoff T.

Very nice looking layout. I have always wondered what a railway built by a kit modeller would look like and it looks like we will see. The nighttime shot is particularly impressive.

Well I thought I'd put a full view of 'Two Short Planks' on, it shows how it's a narrow linear layout - I mean railways are !! One can also appreciate why the title now includes 'A Bit On The Side' which is exactly what the oil tanks are on .......... Geoff T I will get back to modelling aircraft again - honest

Being an aircraft modeller I've never had to do scenery before starting on this project. Well here are the results of the tunnelled hillside diorama - those Modeldecal white RAF letters made a good 'slow' marking in the road !!! Note that fence post holes are still being dug - all in place now. Geoff T.
