It's early Saturday morning, I've got the first cup of coffee of the day, it's peaceful and quiet and I'm scanning posts on various forums that I rarely click onto. Some of you may have seen this animation before, but I was amazed: www.youtube.com/OfficialAirfixI'm not a wingy builder, but there are aircraft that I just love to see modelled including the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, and of course a couple of civil aircraft I used to watch fly out of the old Liverpool 'Speke' airport as a child in the 60's. Maybe I'm just an old softee who was born too late, but this animation has brought back memories of watching 633 Squadron all those years ago. I've not yet seen one of these kits built, but I'm looking forward to it.

From the Airfix site:
"This fantastic kit was initially aimed to be available in 2008, but with the kit becoming more detailed it was clear that it would not make it for a 2008 release. The kit is now aimed to be released in November 2009, with the tool currently being manufactured we are well on the way to seeing this outstanding kit in the shops well in time for Christmas."
(my highlights) - I wonder what that will coincide with then? Rich

Not before, or even at, the Nationals, but still anticipated by Christmas. I checked, yesterday, and the test shots have proved very successful, with only a few needing "tweaks" before the kit is made available. Of course, sending parts (and personnel?) back and forth to China, will delay things. Contrary to what you might hear from the usual corps of naysayers, the kit will not be limited, in any way, and will be generally available. Edgar

This has come from a friend, at Fairford (if he's messing about, look for me on a murder charge.) Hornby are at Fairford, and are saying that the kit will be out next month, at £99. Edgar

My friend is safe, but the information, regarding the price, was, apparently, totally wrong. Hornby are less than impressed, since the £99 didn't come from them, so it looks as though you're still going to need persuasive tendencies to get 'er indoors to part with £130. Edgar
