I have recently started to build an RAF Bell Griffon helicopter and I intend to finish it in the grey "Cyprus" colour scheme. Photos and information seem to be scarce and I can find only two very small pics on airliners net. Can anyone help me with what exterior mods (not worried about interior) are required to the Italeri CH-146 Griffon/Bell 412 kit to get a reasonable likeness ? Any help appreciated.

One minor point regarding the photos brought up by the link in Alfie's post is that that they were all taken at UK airshows where the helicopters were not fitted with the rescue winch on the starboard side. The winch is standard for their normal work as SAR helicopters in Cyprus.
Good articles on the 84 Sqn Griffins can be found in Scale Aircraft Modelling Vol 28/2 April 2006 International Air Power Review Vol 20 Air Forces Monthly December 2005
All have a good selection of photos which do show the winch

Saw one (or more) Griffons - blue and yellow variety - today, invading the Peoples Republic of Swynnerton to a backing track of heavy artillery and small arms fire from the training area (made my day at a nearby training centre slightly more interesting...). I was learning about major incident planning so perhaps it was related ) John
