Hello All,
I am visiting the in-laws in Wrexham and was wondering if there are any good modelling shops nearby?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
A.

When I visited my Grandparents who live not far from Wrexham the only one I could find was Hobby Corner 112, Chester Rd Wrexham Clwyd LL11 2SN Tel: 01978 355231 www.hobbycorner.co.uk/It wasn't a bad shop but I wouldn't like to vouch for it now as its been over three years since we went there.

I went to Hobby Corner model shop in Wrexham, I was situation over closed down with shop. I send my e-mail for owner but He reply me Kerin Taylor said "We closed on April 1st 2013" still waiting wings or still closed this shop. I know one of IPMS member, He lived near here.
Sadly, Wrexham and Chester has wipe off all model shops on now. what happened with Chester Model Zone will remained
I know Kerin Taylor on loyal customer

shame about model shops closing, nearest to wrexham are frodsham or greenfield. just a reflection of the parlous state of the uk.

I grew up in Wrexham and I spent just about every penny I got on kits and paints there, mid 80's to early 90's. I think the owner (old chap with glasses on a chain) must have been sick of the sight of us during the summers as we'd cycle to it at least 3 times a week. As well as models they did all kinds of crafts and RC, after I moved away it just did RC AFAIK so there might not have been much to find there anyway.

chap with glasses was still there when the shop closed, his son ran the buisness, but dad still had an active roll to play. shame it closed, i live within walking distance and was always popping in for plasticard and paint. r/c was the main core of the trade i think.

went to modelzone in chester today, all appears normal, they have had a bit of a reorganise of the kits, possibly not as much stock on show and some lines have disappeared, not much in the way of offers, but hell, they are open for us.
