That realy is crazy. I thought the parts where small enough on my model, those would drive me mad. Exactly. Which is why mine is still in its envelope after umpteen years! A buddy in my model boat club has a Revell Type VII U-boat, with radio-control fitted, and he's been giving me grief for some time about building the Bachstelze so he could display them together. That's been ever since I showed him the 'kit' and we placed it on the stern of the Type VII. It looked ridiculously small!

The BUSINESS! All you need now is a 1/48 scale Type VII to tow it up. Oh yes, and a 1/48 volunteer nutter to fly it of course! Since taking the piccies of my baby one I'm seriously considering starting on it. I must be mad.........

How about some for my sheer madness for tackling it?

no no -
madness doesn't count because it's a prerequisite for modelling -
but in this case I would award a bonus point for madness.... ;D

Sorry I've arrived late at the party, but I have built the Blue Rider Bachsteltze. Apologies for the murky picture and the dusty subject, but here she is : Never Again!Ian

Ian, SERIOUS respect! Did you do the 'splitting the plastic rod down the middle' routine, or is there a better solution?

Rolf - I hadn't spotted that - and you are, of course, most welcome!
Kit - I tried with the split rod - briefly - but settled for a primer/undercoat of good quality white glue (Marvin Artists' Medium) on all of the 'tubular' bits. To be honest, I don't think it made a heck of a lot of difference!
