Id never thought of this as being a Recce type but i guess it is. Although mine will be finished in catpured markings. Finding some RAF roundels small enough for her could be fun though. So here goes with my first photo build. First off is some sprue photos: And the rather simple instructions: And a closer photo of the resin and Etch brass: And finaly some progress: The resin part in the foreground is the simple instrument panel. This is being built for a group build over at the unofficial airfix modellers forum.

Ollie,
this is going to be interesting - looking fwd to more with anticipation !
Constructive remark though if you permit - could you use a neutral single colour background for your pics maybe ?

Of course any comments positive or negative are welcome. I will try and sort out a better background next time, i apreciate my building board is no the most attractive backgroud.

Ollie,
Thought I had posted something last night, ah well, senior moment...
Are you going to do the submarine, and this on a wire behind it..?
Maybe not, but I found it an entertaining idea for a diorama.......
I shall follow this with interest....

Colin, As much as i am tempted to do a second one with a Submarine i dont know if anyone does a U boat in 1:48th scale and if they did its going to be huge. I have seen one of the Revell 1:72 kits built up and they are big enough.

This thing is seriously sending me cross eyed. Ive made a few mistakes and might build another one and try to improve:

Ollie, I have a 1/72 scale one, all in etched brass, and its never been out of the packet because of that 'crossed eyes' business. It would look good hovering over the stern of a Revell Type VII though..............

admiring your perseverance already -
I think this woud be too fiddly for me - not to speak of a try in 1/72nd!

I sat it on the wing of a Seafire last night for an idea of scale and it realy is tiny.

Heres some more progress. First of all the rudder pedals and some form of tank, not sure what for though: The main fuesalage (if you can call it that): This was a real fiddle: Ive started rigging the rotors:

I sat it on the wing of a Seafire last night for an idea of scale and it realy is tiny. Sorry this is a bit late, I've been away for a while. Your Fa-330 is really looking the business, amazing how anyone would agree to fly something that fragile operationally. And how do you get to sit on the wing of a Seafire anyway??? The Blue Rider Fa-330 'kit' comes in an envelope about the size of a standard postcard. The piccies are all approx. life size. Inside it contains a 16 page booklet (!) all about the aircraft and a few pages of notes on how to build the model. And one very lightweight drawing to help you! The two frets are taped inside the front and rear covers of the booklet together with the decals (!) and two pieces of styrene rod. The latter are for various details on the model, one of which they expect you to slit down the centre (!!) and glue them either side of the skids to give some depth to them..... Seen here with a 50p piece for scale.

That realy is crazy. I thought the parts where small enough on my model, those would drive me mad.
As for how i sat her on the wing of a Seafire i kind of cheated. The Seafire was sitting in the top of an ice cream tub whilst i did some painting of the details and applied the pro modellers wash. Thus the wings where level and she didnt slide off.
